A Map of the Temporary route for the Strait of Hormuz Announced By Maritime Security Center in the Sultanate of Oman
The Sultanate of Oman has officially decided to issue a temporary route for the Strait of Hormuz amid growing maritime safety concerns.
Omani Authorities of the Maritime Security Center In the Sultanate of Oman Announced on its Official Page on X (Formally Twitter ) that:
“In light of the Sultanate of Oman’s responsibility towards the Strait of Hormuz and its significance to the global economy, and in accordance with its steadfast commitment to international law and maritime law that ensures freedom of navigation in the strait without imposing transit fees, and in line with the outcomes of the efforts made by the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman has coordinated with the International Maritime Organization to provide a temporary maritime corridor option for all vessels based on the coordinates announced by the International Maritime Organization and the relevant Omani authorities.”

There has been a steady increase in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, although it remains significantly lower than pre-war levels. This increase followed an agreement between Iran and the United States to establish a “hotline” aimed at “preventing and resolving any misunderstandings” with countries while vessels transit this vital waterway, as stated by Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi
This is the First Time during this War that the Sultanate of Oman has announced a Temporary Map, as the peace process is underway in Switzerland between Iran & the United States, with the mediation of Pakistan & Qatar. As the Peace process moves forward, the Strait of Hormuz is partially open to all traffic, with Oman’s authorities in place to ensure vessel safety and security.
