Etihad Rail has announced that passenger train services will begin on June 30, connecting Abu Dhabi and Fujairah stations. The official launch of the passenger rail network is scheduled for September 30, 2026.
The announcement coincided with the inauguration of the new passenger train station in Mohammed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Official Update was noted from Etihad Rail Official X (formerly Twitter) account that new stations will be connected in Route with expected launch dates.

Dubai Station
MBZ Abu Dhabi Station – in Extension: Madinat Zayed Station & Liwa Station

Passenger train services will begin preliminary operations between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The stations in Dubai and Al Dhaid are expected to open on September 30, 2026, while the stations in the Al Dhafra region are expected to start operations on December 30, 2026. The route will conclude at Sharjah station on March 30, 2027.
